3D Printing Rocket3D Printed Rocket Launch Startup Raises $75M in Series D Round

Rocket Lab, a startup based in Los Angeles and New Zealand whose rocket boosters use 3D printed engines, has raised $75 million in a Series D financing round. The money will be used to expand manufacturing facilities for the Electron launch vehicle. Designed to be manufactured at a rate of one rocket per week, pricing is projected to be about $5 million per flight. Renca, a company founded by Russian businessman Andrey Dudnikov and Italian geologist Alex Reggiani, has been working in partnership with the Dubai Municipality to create a 3D printable construction material that can be used to manufacture buildings in the Middle Eastern city. They claim to have created a geopolymer cement made from industrial by-products, making it about 10 times more eco-friendly (in terms of energy consumption) than traditional cement // Read More
