OPERATIONS MANAGER (Seattle, WA)

Employment Type: Full-time

The Operations Manager is responsible for day to day operations and management of the FATHOM Seattle service bureau. This will include the processing of work orders, equipment set-up and operation, and management of prototyping technicians to ensure timely and efficient operation, post processing and shipping for service bureau customers. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all orders being processed and executed on-time.

You must be highly independent and capable of excelling in a deadline driven environment. You will be working hands on with files from a variety of CAD programs, models produced using several different Additive Manufacturing methods, as well as a variety of techniques for proper post processing and cleaning of prototypes. Attention to detail is a key attribute to success in this role as well as a strong ability to multi-task, as you will be handling and processing many orders, on many systems, in a short period of time. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual capable of handling tight deadlines with very high-end equipment. You must be driven to teach yourself and have the confidence to make suggestions for improvement when applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Print Set-up: Scheduling and coordinating all 3D print builds
  • Inventory Management: Ensure material supplies are regulated to ensure jobs are not delayed.
  • Model Shop maintenance: Ensure all tools in model shop are clean and in good working order and operated safely
  • Managing Prototype Technicians: Ensure all prototype technicians are using proper techniques and manage work flow to ensure timely completion for delivery.
  • Support removal: Remove support structure on 3D printed models (you will have help here, but must be independently capable to help teach new hires as FATHOM Seattle grows).
  • Model Finishing: Sanding, painting and priming plastic models, with the ability to pass on your knowledge to new hires

Required Skills:
